Weddings, Christenings, Baptisms, and Confirmation.

Baptism (Christening)

If you are thinking about baptism (sometimes called Christening) for yourself or your children we'd be delighted to welcome you.  You are eligible for baptism here if you either live in the parish or regularly worship at one of the churches.  Please contact our Parish Office for more information.

Weddings

Getting married in Church is a very special experience.  If you are interested in having your marriage ceremony at St Mary's or
St Peter's, we’d be delighted to talk with you. You are legally allowed to be married in this church if either of you is resident in the parish or if you have one of a number of 'qualifying connections'.  The clergy are happy to answer any questions you may have and will help you prepare for the service itself. Wedding of couples where one or more partner is divorced, is subjected to the Bishops’ Guidelines and Church of England policy.

If you are getting married in a different church but one or both of you lives in the parish, you'll be asked to have your banns read at
St Peter's.

Funerals

We’re here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England-led funeral is available to everyone, whether at the church or at the cemetery or crematorium. We can help you design a personal and meaningful service that reflects the life of the person who has died, as well as affirming the hope we have in Christ.

Confirmation

We hold a confirmation service every couple of years. This is proceeded by a period of preparation. Again the first point of contact for further information would be the Parish office
