St Mary's Church, Staines, offers a unique and historic setting for a range of events and occasions. Standing on a distinctive rise overlooking the River Thames, close to Lammas Park and within easy reach of local amenities. St Mary's is a welcoming and well-connected venue in the heart of the town, with easy access by road and public transport.
The hall is located at the back of the church. Both the church and hall have step-free entry for wheelchair users and guests with mobility needs, along with accessible toilet facilities that include baby-changing amenities for families. See St Mary's Accessibility for more information.
St Mary’s Hall Hire
St Mary's Hall is directly attached to the church, making it a convenient and characterful setting for smaller events and gatherings. Its accessible design and practical facilities make it a popular choice for a wide range of activities, from community meetings, classes and workshops to private celebrations.
Licensed for 25-30 people, the hall offers a calm and intimate atmosphere.
Tables and stacking chairs are available, allowing the space to be arranged to suit your event.
A small kitchen is available for use when hiring the hall. Kitchen facilities include an oven, hob, microwave, electric kettle, wall mounted water heater, cups, saucers, plates, cutlery and glasses/plastic cups. We ask that hall users please leave the kitchen as they find it, and wash and clean up after using

Hire St Mary’s Church
St Mary’s Church is a Grade II listed building, a designation reserved for buildings of more than special interest, making it one of the most historically significant venues in the area.
Its exceptional architectural character and riverside setting offer a truly unique and atmospheric backdrop for weddings, concerts, celebrations, photo shoots and special occasions.
Set on a distinctive rise overlooking the River Thames, the church’s commanding position and ancient churchyard create a memorable backdrop from the moment guests arrive.
Externally, St Mary’s presents a striking blend of architectural periods. The five-stage brick west tower, built in 1631 and long associated with the architect Inigo Jones, is one of the most distinctive landmarks on the Staines riverside. The battlemented nave, designed by John Burges Watson in an Early English Gothic style, features tall lancet windows with elegant stone detailing and a crenellated parapet.
Inside, the church is filled with artistic and historical detail, including beautiful stained-glass windows and the Brindley and Foster organ, installed in 1871.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, please take note of the following key terms:
Booking & Payments
An initial booking fee of £65 is required to secure your booking
This fee is fully refundable if cancelled at least 14 days prior to your booking date
The booking fee will be deducted from the final hire cost
Refundable Deposit
A refundable deposit is required: £106*
A refundable deposit of £690* is required for wedding receptions
Hirer Responsibilities
A member of the Parish team may inspect the premises with the hirer before and after the hire, so that its condition can be agreed together.
The hirer is responsible, throughout the hire period, for supervising and ensuring the safety of everyone on the premises.
The hirer is responsible for protecting the hired venue, its contents, grounds and surroundings from damage, and for any damage caused.
The hirer is to vacate the premises promptly at the end of the hire period.
The hirer is to leave the premises clean and tidy. Leaving the premises in an unsatisfactory condition will be treated as a breach of these conditions.
Hire of St Peter's Large Hall may include use of the lawn by prior arrangement with the Parish Office, subject to ground conditions on the day. Musical entertainment is not permitted outside the hall.
