With its beautiful riverside setting, Gothic-inspired church, light and spacious halls, and easy access by road and public transport, St Peter’s is a welcoming and well-connected venue, perfect for bringing people together for memorable occasions.
There are two halls available for hire, one large and one small, offering versatile spaces that are suitable for a variety of events.
Both halls are located on the ground floor with step-free entry for wheelchair users and guests with mobility needs, along with accessible toilet facilities that include baby-changing amenities for families. See St Peter’s Accessibility for more information.
Tables and stacking chairs are available in both rooms, allowing complete flexibility in how the spaces can be used.
Access to kitchen facilities is included in the hire price.
Free parking is available on site for hall and church users.
Free WiFi is provided throughout.
St Peter’s Large Hall
Our large hall is spacious, light and airy, with direct access from our car park. In the summer months, the hall opens out onto our beautiful riverside gardens, accessible from the Thames Towpath.
Licensed for 250-300 people, it is an excellent venue for a wide range of events including wedding receptions, fairs, family celebrations, birthday parties, community events, classes and more. The hall ceiling is even high enough to accommodate bouncy castles.
Hire of the large hall includes use of a large kitchen, which has a serving hatch opening directly into the hall.
The hardwood flooring is easy to clean, making the hall particularly suitable for games and messier activities.

St Peter’s Small Hall
The smaller hall is licensed for up to 80 people and provides a calmer, more intimate setting that is ideal for meetings, workshops and focused group activities.
Its compact size and softer lighting make it a practical and comfortable choice for smaller gatherings, with accessible facilities and a flexible layout with tables and chairs.

St Peter’s Church Hire
Our stunning Victorian Gothic church provides a unique and characterful setting for weddings, concerts, photo shoots and film locations.
The main entrance faces the lychgate which beautifully frames views of the River Thames and surrounding grounds, creating a truly memorable backdrop for any occasion.
Externally, St Peter’s is a striking red-brick Gothic building, designed by G. H. Fellowes Prynne, with elegant stone dressings and a distinctive copper-clad spire that rises above its riverside setting.
Internally, the church features a high timber-vaulted ceiling, exposed red brickwork, and beautifully preserved Victorian Gothic details, all softly illuminated by stained-glass windows that fill the space with colour and light.
Large television screens and an audio system for displaying images and playing music are available. Loose chairs can be arranged in any format, making it a versatile venue for concerts, large meetings, weddings and other celebrations.
Wheelchair access is via the side entrance. Toilets (including disabled and baby changing) are in the adjacent hall.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, please take note of the following key terms:
Booking & Payments
An initial booking fee of £65 is required to secure your booking
This fee is fully refundable if cancelled at least 14 days prior to your booking date
The booking fee will be deducted from the final hire cost
Refundable Deposit
A refundable deposit is required: £106*
A refundable deposit of £690* is required for wedding receptions
Hirer Responsibilities
A member of the Parish team may inspect the premises with the hirer before and after the hire, so that its condition can be agreed together.
The hirer is responsible, throughout the hire period, for supervising and ensuring the safety of everyone on the premises.
The hirer is responsible for protecting the hired venue, its contents, grounds and surroundings from damage, and for any damage caused.
The hirer is to vacate the premises promptly at the end of the hire period.
The hirer is to leave the premises clean and tidy. Leaving the premises in an unsatisfactory condition will be treated as a breach of these conditions.
Hire of St Peter's Large Hall may include use of the lawn by prior arrangement with the Parish Office, subject to ground conditions on the day. Musical entertainment is not permitted outside the hall.
